The Yellow Ribbon Run is a flagship event of the Yellow Ribbon Project. With the theme "A Nation Beyond Second Chances", it aims to unite communities across Singapore to foster an inclusive society where inmates and ex-offenders take ownership for their change and are provided with opportunities for rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
Community support is vital in the reintegration journey of ex-offenders and families impacted by incarceration. Small acts of kindness by individuals, employers, and organisations can create large ripple effects across communities and generations. This is especially true for families impacted by intergenerational offending, where more than one family member has been incarcerated.
As the national symbol of hope and second chances, the Yellow Ribbon Run demonstrates that ex-offenders are not merely recipients of the second chances offered by the community, but also active contributors who pay forward the kindness and support they have received.
This year’s edition of the Yellow Ribbon Run features an exciting new venue, offering participants a refreshed experience while bringing communities together in support of second chances. There will also be live band performances, games, a rehabilitation fair, and a Yellow Ribbon pop-up merchandise store. The event will also feature a parent-child run aimed at promoting bonding and fun for families.
In addition to spreading the message of hope and fostering a more inclusive society, we are committed to building a more environmentally sustainable future. This year, the Yellow Ribbon Run’s iconic run shirt and drawstring bag will be made from eco-friendly materials. This commitment reflects our dedication to creating a positive environmental impact while promoting the values of hope and inclusivity.
